Physical Geology · Problem type
Landforms and the agent that made them
Use this for “Which agent of erosion and deposition formed an esker, a cirque or a barchan dune?”
Sort
Which agent formed each landform?
Tap a card, then tap its group.
Water sorts and spreads sediment where it slows, ice carves and dumps unsorted debris, wind moves only fine grains, and gravity drops debris downslope.
Assumptions
•
Each landform is sorted by the agent that mainly carved or built it, though others may touch it later.
•
Glacial landforms include those built by meltwater under or at the edge of the ice, such as eskers.
•
Mass wasting is downslope movement by gravity alone, with no stream, ice or wind carrying the debris.
