The four resolutions
Use this for “A sensor records 12 bits a pixel and revisits every 16 days. Which kind of resolution is each?”

Which resolution does this describe?
Tap a card, then tap its group.
Ask what the number measures: ground size, bands, brightness levels or time.
Assumptions
•
Spatial resolution is the ground size of one pixel; spectral is how many bands and how narrow.
•
Radiometric resolution is how many brightness levels a pixel can record: n bits give 2ⁿ levels.
•
Temporal resolution is how often the sensor images the same place again.
