Is it a subspace?

Use this for “Is the set of points with y = 3x − 2 a subspace of ℝ²?”

Sort

Test 0 first, then a sum and a multiple of vectors in the set.

Assumptions

•
A subspace holds 0 and is closed under adding and scaling.
•
One failure is enough: a set without 0, or a sum or multiple that leaves the set, is not a subspace.
