Inductive or deductive?
Use this for “Is this conclusion reached by inductive or deductive reasoning?”
Sort
Which kind of reasoning reached the conclusion?
Tap a card, then tap its group.
Assumptions
•
Inductive reasoning sees a pattern in examples and guesses a rule: a conjecture, not yet proved.
•
Deductive reasoning starts from facts, definitions and rules already proved, so its conclusion must be true.
•
A proof is deductive; one counterexample is enough to break an inductive guess.
