Simplify with the identities
Use this for “Simplify (1 − cos θ)(1 + cos θ)” or “sin²(3x) + cos²(3x)”.
Sort
What does the expression simplify to?
Tap a card, then tap its group.
Assumptions
•
Each card is x² + y² = 1 on the unit circle, rearranged or divided through by cos²θ.
•
sin²θ + cos²θ = 1 holds for every angle: 5x as well as θ.
•
Dividing by cos²θ gives tan²θ + 1 = sec²θ.
