Fine mesh or fix it

Use this for “A mesh check flags an element with aspect ratio 15. Is it fine to use, or should the mesh be fixed?”

Sort

Is the element fine to use, or does the mesh need fixing?
Tap a card, then tap its group.
Good elements are close to squares and equilateral triangles; stretched or folded ones spoil the answer.

Assumptions

•
Aspect ratio is the longest edge over the shortest; near 1 is best, past about 5 is poor.
•
A quad’s corner angles should stay near 90°; one past about 150° is badly distorted.
•
A negative Jacobian means the element is turned inside out: the solver cannot use it.
